Chad Floyd - Contact

This dissertation was written in 2011 in partial fulfillment to Chad's DMA degree at the University of Kentucky. It includes transcriptions and analysis of selected drum set solos performed by Dave Weckl during his time leading the Dave Weckl Band. Musical examples are contained within the text of the analysis chapters. The summary of Weckl's style is used as a basis for the composition of the new work, Imbue. Transcriptions are included for the three selected Weckl solos created for this study, along with the complete score for the original work, Imbue.
