Four-mallet playing is something not usually associated with steel drum performance. However, this arrangement of the popular traditional spiritual makes use of this technique which is normally associated with keyboard percussion performance. The performer may utilize a modified version of the Stevens marimba grip when performing this piece. The use of four mallets creates a thicker texture than what would otherwise result in a performance with only two mallets.
